Discover New Season Indian Restaurant

If you’re in Phnom Penh and looking to indulge in an authentic Indian dining experience, New Season Indian Restaurant located at 171 Preah Sisowath Quay is a hidden gem you’ll want to check out. This charming spot offers a cozy atmosphere where every meal tells a story of rich spices, bold flavors, and the heart of Indian cuisine. Whether you’re a long-time lover of Indian food or just exploring the world of curries and tandoori, this restaurant offers a dining experience that’ll make you feel right at home.

From the moment you step inside, you’ll be greeted by the warm aromas of spices that fill the air, setting the stage for a satisfying meal. The ambiance is inviting and unpretentious, offering a great place for both casual outings and special occasions. The restaurant is known for its friendly service, which adds to the overall dining experience. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and always happy to guide you through their diverse selection of dishes.

The menu at New Season Indian Restaurant is extensive, showcasing a variety of dishes that cater to all palates. Whether you're craving something mild and creamy like butter chicken or in the mood for something spicy like vindaloo, there’s something for everyone. The naan bread here deserves a special mention-it’s perfectly soft, warm, and a great complement to any curry. For those who love tandoori dishes, the tandoori chicken and kebabs are cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of char and smoky flavor.

One dish that has consistently stood out during my visits is their lamb rogan josh. It’s tender, flavorful, and packed with layers of spices that melt in your mouth. The blend of aromatic herbs and tender lamb cooked in a rich, hearty sauce makes it a must-try for anyone visiting the restaurant. The chefs at New Season Indian Restaurant clearly understand the delicate balance of spices that define Indian cuisine. Whether it’s the subtle heat of a mild dish or the bold spiciness of a masala, the flavors never overpower each other, offering a well-rounded experience.

For those who prefer vegetarian dishes, you’ll find a variety of options that highlight the versatility of Indian vegetables. The dal makhani, a hearty lentil dish, and the paneer tikka are popular among regulars. The paneer is perfectly grilled, with a smoky flavor that pairs wonderfully with the creamy tomato-based sauce. If you’re looking for a fresh and flavorful side, the mixed vegetable curry is a great option that balances out the richness of the main dishes.

The drinks menu is also well-curated, offering traditional Indian beverages like mango lassi and chai tea, which are refreshing and pair wonderfully with the spices in the food. If you’re a fan of something a little stronger, New Season Indian Restaurant also offers a selection of wines and beers to complement your meal.

What sets New Season Indian Restaurant apart from other places in Phnom Penh is its attention to detail. The quality of ingredients used in each dish speaks for itself. The spices are freshly ground, and you can taste the difference in every bite. Additionally, the restaurant takes pride in offering dishes that cater to different dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. This makes it a great place for groups with varied preferences.

  • This is the best value for Indian food in Phnom Penh that I've found. The vegetarian set meal is only $5.50 (May 2025), and the portions are huge. The quality was very good. If you want good quality Indian food at low prices, come here. The menu selection is also huge, and there is free water and apetizers. For Indian food, it is hard to beat. I highly recommend this restaurant.

  • The butter chicken ($6.50 USD) was yummy, and the cheese naan ($3.50 USD) was very yummy. Removing a star, however, because I noticed a few ants on my table (inside the restaurant).

  • Best Indian food I’ve ever had and I’ve worked as a tandoori chef and eat at many Indian places and this is by far the best. So yummy . Garlic naan was so hot and my favorite naan ever! I will definitely be back.

  • An Indian restaurant along the main quay, it is competing with other Indian restaurants along the quay. However, they serve the best Indian foods there. Staffs are responsive and friendly. Their foods portion is big. We didn't finish what we ordered so I asked the staff to pack them up for us. They are cool people. The atmosphere is very nice. My overall experience: I'll go there again.

  • We are so glad we chose to eat here- the food was so delicious! The portion sizes were huge (we ate the thali) , food fresh & the staff were extremely attentive. We have been to several Indian restaurants in Cambodia and this was the best.
